THIS POSITION IS FOR SECOND SHIFT / 1:30 PM TO 10:00 PM
Job Summary: Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supervising department staff to ensure the products are in compliance with federal, state and local food safety laws. This individual is also responsible for testing, inspecting and making adjustments to products during production in order that internal specifications are met. Will liaise with R and D, Production and Sales on a routine basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
:Maintenance of Quality Systems * x4A8;
:Participate with Director of Quality Systems on yearly re:assessment of all HACCP Plans as required by USDA * x4A8;
:Maintain Recall/Product Recovery Plan and Crisis Management program in conjunction with the Director * x4A8;
:Coordinator of Product Recovery Plan and Crisis Management/Mock Recalls *
:Responsible for developing Microbiological Guideline Monitoring Program in collaboration with QA staff Microbiologist *
:Periodic review of Microbiology, Sampling Plans with QA Staff and Director. *
:Responsible for Quality Control/ Quality Assurance Department * x4A8;
:Responsible for all records review/records maintenance. *
:Maintain and yearly review supplier documentation in all areas related to Quality Assurance. * x4A8;
:Responsible for all Regulatory Plant Inspection * x4A8;
:Responsible for all Third Party Audit *
:Responsible for Quality related customer complaint responses. * x4A8;
:Responsible for maintaining self:audit program. *
:Responsible for training all QA staff. and production personnel for GMPs and HACCP as needed * x4A8;
:Collaborates with QA and production staff on: *
:Sanitation Plan and Cleaning Procedures
:Yearly Plant Audit
:Compliance to Regulatory directives regarding intervention steps for control of pathogens
:Training and special projects
:Pest Control
:Plant Sanitation
:Daily plant issues and operations
:Creating and maintenance of Product Information Books
:Updates EZ Label File System in conjunction with Nutritionist.
:Trains QA Staff on the use of the Program
:Responsible for coverage of QA Technologist responsibilities as required (i.e. vacation; sick days) * x4A8;
:Responsible for creating any additional Excel forms for records.
:Update forms as needed on the company intranet

Qualifications:
:Strong analytical and communication skills
:Bilingual (Spanish/English)
:Food Microbiology/Food Science or Engineering Background
Education/Experience:
:BA /BS Degree in Science Discipline
:Minimum 3:5 years of supervisory food plant experience
:Must have knowledge of GMPs, USDA, HACCP and SQF or GFSI
:Computer literate in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
:Bachelor Degree in Science or Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a food plant or pharmaceutical environment
Training Requirements:
Each incumbent must complete training and testing on the following topics upon hire and on a semi:annual basis thereafter:
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
HACCP
Food Safety
Allergens
Chemicals
Bio:Security and Food Defense
