The School of Business and Information Systems at York College/CUNY invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Business and Economics in the area of Logistics Management at either Assistant or Associate Professor rank beginning Fall 2018.
York College is located in Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City and one of the most ethnically diverse counties in the nation. It is a senior college within the City University of New York and is situated on a 50-acre campus in the heart of the Downtown Jamaica section of the borough.
The individual hired for this position will teach basic and advanced courses in at least four of the following fields: Logistics Management, E-Business Technology, Procurement Management, Material and Inventory Control, Transportation Management, and Operations Management. The successful candidate will also conduct research leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals in their field of specialization; provide service to the College, including student advisement and service on Department and college committees, and; assist with curriculum components. Teaching assignments will include evenings and weekends.
Teaching Faculty perform teaching, research and guidance duties in the area(s) of expertise and shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
The following qualifications are highly preferred:
(1) A Doctorate in Operations Management or Logistics Management (or closely related field) from a regionally accredited university
(2) Abilities, skills and enthusiasm consistent with teaching excellence and instructional innovation in the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management
(3) Willingness to fulfill service responsibilities to students, colleagues, the Department, School, campus, external community, and professional organizations
