Position: DevOps EngineerLocation: Long Island, NYType: 6 Months CTH Job Description The client is currently looking for an energetic, high-performing DevOps Engineer for Jericho, NY office with strong Amazon Web Services Cloud experience leveraging automation and orchestration technologies and/or services. The DevOps Engineer will help manage our rapidly scaling environment with opportunities to develop both professionally and technical expertise.In this role, you'll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and manage our systems. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build, setup, and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure provisioning on the AWS Cloud. You'll need to build the whole stack ELBs, to databases, and then move and launch our sites on every application release following a "Blue/Green" methodology.Successful candidate will be highly driven and self-motivated, possess strong technical, analytical and communication skills, be comfortable working both independently and in high performance team environments under tight deadlines.Responsibilities include:Extensive Ansible Automation (Orchestrate system provisioning, scaling and improve code testing) MYSQL database administration - query optimization, replication, Systems performance tuning to maintain availability and scalability Release Management which will include a solid understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery Day-to-day systems administration - user creation, systems provision troubleshooting, and monitoring Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required) Respond to emergency outages and coordinate responses with engineering teams in multiple locations Work with engineering teams to refine deployment and release processes Experience supporting high traffic high volume web applications and websites Willingness to work flexible / odd hours at times, based on needs, including on-call rotation Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field Extensive administration knowledge with LINUX, UNIX, SSH, cron, and access control Experience with managed hosting and colocation Expert level knowledge with experience with AWS infrastructure - VPC, Security Groups, EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, etc. Expert level knowledge and experience with AWS API integration Familiarity with notification platforms like PagerDuty or OpsGenie Analytical thinking and troubleshooting to resolve infrastructure and/or application issues Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must have a passion to learn new technologies Solid scripting ability - Bash, Ruby, Python, PHP Solid understanding of DNS, TCPDUMP, CDNS, SSL, Git, Firewalls and network concepts Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible and YAML playbooks Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required) Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus since we use Couchbase and Redis) Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment Experience deploying scalable web infrastructure with Apache/NGINX/PHP/PHP-FPM Understanding of monitoring tools and statistics - Nagios, SolarWinds, Alertsite, Newrelic, Sumologic, or CloudWatch Solid understanding of Docker and containers Ability to work in a team environment and reliable to work independently Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment - provided by DiceDevOps and (aws or amazon) and cloud and (MYSQL or NoSQL) and (LINUX or unix)
